Learning about Sustainable Development Goals | 4°, 5° & 6°
Miss Fernanda Alvarez worked with 4th, 5th, and 6th-grade students to reinforce their SDG learning. The dynamic activities motivated students to face challenges outside the classroom.
4th graders learned about goal #2, “No hunger” they were encouraged to bring canned and closed food items to donate to those in need. They had a 10-minute challenge involving getting into teams and inventing a superhero that would solve hunger issues.
5th graders made groups and played jeopardy with questions about their SDG goal of “Responsible consumption and production.” After that, they had reflection time with Miss Fernanda and understood the importance of being responsible consumers.
6th graders teamed up to create sustainable cities made of recycled items such as cans, paper, plastic bottles, and wrappers. The activity was quite challenging, but that didn’t stop them from showing off their creative skills! Goal #11 is about sustainable cities and communities; students showcased their learning in their projects.
